JOE BIRD was a successful swimming and water polo coach at Fermin Lasuen and Mira Costa high schools. He trained several All-Americans that became L.A. City champions, collegiate swimmers and Olympic medalists. Joe also founded the Los Angeles County Junior Lifeguards.
JOHNNY CAMPBELL won a record 11 SCORE Baja 1000 titles and 17 Baja 1000 wins, among many othe accomplishments in the sport of offroad racing. He also launched Team JCR/Honda and organized the most talented racers in the sport.
RAY DEETER was an accomplished athlete who won awards and championships in baseball, softball, and basketball. He shared these awards and some great stories with numerous teammates.
RALPH DEQUEBEC was injured by an IED while serving as a Marine in Afghanistan, resulting in bilateral, above-the-knee amputations. He received a Purple Heart and became a Paralympic Gold Medalist in hockey during the 2018 Pyeongchang Winter Paralypmpics. Ralph graduated from San Pedro High School.
TONY DOBRA took over coaching Girls’ Softball at San Pedro High School in 1987 and built a dynasty, capturing 13 City titles in a span of 34 seasons, 728 wins and 23 League Championships. He retired in 2014 and in 2018 he returned as coach.

ROBBY GORDON is one of the most talented and diverse drivers in racing today. He’s made a mark in NASCAR, IndyCar, and Off-Road. He operates and competes in his own Stadium Super Trucks series.
DON HORN is a former NFL quarterback and first-round draft pick. He played for 8 seasons with the Green Bay Packers, Denver Broncos, Cleveland Browns, and San Diego Chargers. Horn was the first Packers quarterback to throw +400 passing yards when they beat the Cardinals 45-28 with five TD passes.
FRANK MANUMALEUNA was the first Samoan to play in the NFL when he signed with the Kansas City Chiefs. An accomplished linebacker, Frank was a star athlete at UCLA and Phineas Banning High School in Wilmington, CA.
MIKE SCIOSCIA has been manager of the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim since 2000, leading the club to a World Series victory in 2002. He made his big league debut in 1980 and was the Dodgers regular catcher for a decade.
